The View Host Dismisses Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Romance as 'PR Stunt'

The View co-host Sarah Haines has labelled rumours of a romance between Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce a 'PR stunt'. During an episode of the Behind the Table podcast aired on 25 September, Haines expressed her disinterest in discussing the topic on the talk show, despite executive producer Brian Teta's insistence on its newsworthiness.

Haines stated, 'This is a PR stunt, this whole thing, and I’m just not that interested in it, because it feels like you’re giving air to a publicity stunt.' She added that Swift does not need more attention, saying, 'She does not need more expensive concert tickets that are hard to get. Like, she’s good. We’re good.'

The host also cited potential backlash from Swift's fanbase, known as Swifties, as a reason for her reluctance. 'The Swifties are as bad as the Beyhive. They come for you if you even allude to them,' she explained. Teta argued that the public interest justified the discussion, noting that 'the entire world [was] talking' about the pair.

Haines revealed that co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin was keen to discuss the rumours, while Whoopi Goldberg, Ana Navarro, and Sunny Hostin were less enthusiastic. The segment was ultimately dropped. Teta acknowledged the disagreement, saying, 'Moral of the story is everyone doesn’t always agree, and I made the decision not to do the topic because several of you felt this way, but I felt there’s a public interest.'

Swift attended Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs game on 24 September, sitting with his mother in a box seat. The pair were later seen leaving together in a convertible and reportedly dined at a private restaurant. Representatives for Swift and Kelce have been contacted for comment.
