Travis Kelce has been accused of 'cashing in' on his wedding to Taylor Swift with his newest project, a brand advertisement for Accelerator Active Energy. The NFL star married the pop superstar earlier this month in a lavish ceremony at New York's Madison Square Garden, with over 1,000 guests in attendance.
Ad Campaign Sparks Outrage
Just days after saying 'I do,' Kelce appeared in an advert for Accelerator Active Energy, a zero-sugar energy drink brand. In the photo, Kelce looks over his shoulder and smiles, with the words 'Happily. Ever. After' at the top. Another image shows a vintage red truck with 'Just Married' printed on it, with energy drink cans hooked to the back. The caption reads: 'The love story continues. CONGRATS @killatrav!!!'
Fans were quick to express their anger. One wrote: 'They're 1000% monetizing their eventual kids at this rate. It'll make the kids from family YouTube channels look normal by comparison.' Another added: 'Tacky. Everything about them is just tacky.' A Reddit user commented: 'Nothing says Happily Ever After like a paid sponsorship.' A third shared: 'This whole thing feels so dystopian and bizarre. They're taking it so much farther than I think people expected? I keep waiting for it to be a PR stunt or satire, it's just so yuck.'
Wedding Details Revealed
Travis and Taylor married at Madison Square Garden, with their nuptials announced by a sign outside the venue reading 'JusT&T married.' A statement from her publicist Tree Paine confirmed: 'Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’ Best Man.' The wedding ceremony looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture, designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the bride and groom. This marked the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin, and the bride wore Cartier jewellery.
The wedding was shrouded in secrecy, with a source claiming Paul McCartney of The Beatles sang his hit song 'I Want to Hold Your Hand.' Stevie Nicks was also said to have performed. Food was provided by one of Taylor's favourite New York City restaurants, Zero Bond, and guests were treated to Italian and sushi.
