Joanne McNally has admitted she “made a show of herself” on The Traitors after being completely taken in by a fellow contestant. The Irish comedian, who co-hosts the podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me with Vogue Williams, said she had been left red-faced after getting caught up in the drama.
“I’ve very clearly taken the wrong route”
Speaking on the latest episode of the podcast, Joanne hinted at her embarrassing blunder, admitting she had been fooled by what she had seen on screen. “I can’t say anything but I will say that I’ve very clearly taken the wrong route,” she said.
Her co-host Vogue was quick to weigh in, telling Joanne she thought her reaction was “very sweet”, but suggesting the truth had been staring her in the face all along. Joanne, however, insisted her perspective had been shaped by an experience Vogue simply hadn't shared. “You don’t know that experience and you don’t know how convincing he is,” she said.
“I believe all their lies”
The pair went on to discuss how easily people can be taken in by convincing performances, with Joanne admitting she had a habit of believing people even when they were telling her lies. “I believe all their lies. I believe all their lies,” she confessed. “They look me in the eye and I believe their lies. And then I go out and I ride at dawn for them and I make a show of myself.”
Joanne eventually admitted she had been completely fooled, adding: “Turns out he’s a really good actor. And turns out I am the most gullible human alive and I’m a male apologist.”
Vogue’s post-partum update
Elsewhere in the episode, Vogue had a personal update of her own, revealing she was experiencing post-partum hair loss after welcoming her fourth child. “I’ve just noticed that the post-partum hair loss is currently underway. I’m going to have to get the eyeshadow back out, God!” she said. “Women, we have enough to contend with!”
Joanne was quick to joke about Vogue’s revelation, asking: “I don’t know what my excuse is. Have I had a baby that I’m not aware of?”
