TOWIE Star Tom Kilbey Hospitalised with Pneumonia in 'Scariest' Health Battle

Tom Kilbey, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has been rushed to hospital with pneumonia, describing it as the 'toughest and scariest' moment of his life. The reality TV personality shared a health update on Instagram, revealing he was treated at Charing Cross Hospital.

'Pneumonia really put me through it, the scariest and toughest health moment of my life,' Kilbey wrote. 'The NHS and Charing Cross Hospital looked after me like heroes and I'll forever be grateful.' He added that he still has some recovery ahead but is on the mend, thanking his girlfriend Nina Sofey for her care.

Pneumonia is an inflammation of the lungs usually caused by an infection, according to the NHS. Treatment in hospital typically involves fluids, antibiotics, and sometimes oxygen. Kilbey did not disclose how long he had been hospitalised.

Kilbey's sister Cara, also a former TOWIE star, has faced multiple health scares with her children in recent months. In December, her two-year-old son Jagger fractured a finger after visiting Santa, and weeks later was hospitalised again while 'really unwell'. Her daughter also required A&E treatment following a holiday accident.

Cara Kilbey, who joined TOWIE in 2011 and left in 2013, has been open about her own health struggles, including a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in 2021 that required emergency surgery. She later announced her third pregnancy in January 2022.
