The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Wright was found dead in a canal in Thailand on Saturday, with police estimating he had been submerged for up to two days. The 34-year-old had moved to the country in December last year, describing it as a 'very exciting year ahead'.
Police chief Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station said hotel staff reported Jordan had checked in alone and was due to check out on March 13, but never did. CCTV footage showed him appearing restless and moving back and forth in front of the hotel before leaving the area, eventually leading to where his body was discovered.
Jordan was found face down in a canal, wearing a grey shirt and black trousers without shoes. A keycard for the Coco Phuket Bangtao Hotel was in his pocket, and his phone was nearby. Investigators said there were no signs of physical assault or a struggle.
Police are awaiting autopsy results from Vachira Phuket Hospital to determine if drugs were present in his system. The case remains under investigation. A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said: 'We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in contact with authorities.'
In a final social media post on March 6, Jordan shared pictures of his travels in Phuket, including cocktails on the beach and scuba diving. He replied to a friend's comment with 'Life's good T.' The friend later paid tribute, saying: 'Rest in Paradise. Heartbroken to lose such a special soul and a beautiful friend.'
