Daughter of Tommy Lee Jones found dead at San Francisco hotel

The family of actor Tommy Lee Jones has asked for privacy following the death of his daughter, Victoria Jones, who was found unresponsive at a hotel in San Francisco on New Year's Day.

Police were called to the Fairmont San Francisco at around 3am on 1 January after a medical emergency. The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released a cause of death, and police have said they do not suspect foul play. In dispatch audio obtained by TMZ, the incident was described as a 'code 3 for the overdose, colour change'.

Victoria Jones was the daughter of the Academy Award-winning actor and his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley. The couple divorced in 1996 and also had a son, Austin Jones, 43. She appeared in several films as a child, including Men in Black II alongside her father and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, which he directed, as well as making an appearance in the TV series One Tree Hill.

Court records obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle show that a woman identified as Victoria Jones was arrested several times on misdemeanour charges in Napa and Santa Cruz counties last year. These included arrests for obstructing a peace officer, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic controlled substance, resisting a public officer, public intoxication, and domestic battery.

In 2023, her father successfully petitioned a Marin county judge to place her under a temporary conservatorship, arguing that she was engaging in 'life-threatening conduct' and needed drug rehabilitation. At the time, court records showed she was being involuntarily held at a hospital. The actor's petition stated that she needed services from a drug rehabilitation facility and would 'suffer irreparable harm' if not moved.
