Tom Holland, star of Spider-Man and The Odyssey, has admitted that some of his films are "shit" and that audiences "shouldn't" watch them.
Speaking on the Dish podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, Holland discussed promoting his movies. He said: "When you’re doing press for movies that you’re really proud of it’s really easy because when they ask you questions about why should people go and watch this movie, you’re not lying to anyone."
Honest Promotion
He added: "I’ve had experiences before when people say like, ‘Why should you see this movie?’ And in the back if your mind you’re like, ‘You shouldn’t. Because it’s shit.’" It is unclear which films he was referring to, though he has starred in three Spider-Man movies, with a fourth, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, upcoming. He also appeared in related Marvel films and other titles like The Devil All the Time, Cherry, and Chaos Walking.
Proud of Recent Work
Holland currently plays Telemachus in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Commenting on promoting both that film and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he said: "It’s felt really like a bit of a victory lap, to be honest. And I’ve really enjoyed it. You know, I’m super proud of both of the films."
