According to Page Six, the name change was not filed in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where she registered to vote, suggesting it may have been filed in New York, where she was raised by Holmes. Voters in Pennsylvania must register under their legal names, indicating the change is official.

An insider told Page Six in 2024 that Suri 'wanted her own identity' and hoped for a 'fresh start' before university. The source added: 'She is showing praise for her mother by using her middle name,' and that the change could help her 'avoid the paparazzi.'

Katie Holmes attended Suri's graduation in 2024, while Tom Cruise was in London for Taylor Swift's Eras tour. Holmes, 47, told Town & Country magazine: 'I'm proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy.'
