Tom Cruise Reportedly Snubs Trump At Kennedy Center

Tom Cruise has reportedly turned down an invitation from President Donald Trump to be honoured at the 48th Kennedy Center Honors. According to The Washington Post, citing current and former Kennedy Center employees, the actor declined due to scheduling conflicts.

The Kennedy Center Honors, which celebrate individuals whose artistic contributions have shaped the world, were announced by Trump on Wednesday. This year's recipients include country singer George Strait, rock band KISS, Broadway star Michael Crawford, singer Gloria Gaynor, and actor Sylvester Stallone.

Cruise, best known for his roles in the 'Mission Impossible' and 'Top Gun' franchises, was offered the award but turned it down. The Independent has contacted a representative for Cruise for comment. In November, Cruise is set to receive an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards.

Before announcing the recipients, Trump suggested he should be honoured next year, stating he had never received the award. He also claimed to have been heavily involved in selecting this year's honorees, rejecting some picks he deemed 'too woke'.
