Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt's Intense Feud Uncovered After 30 Years
Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt Feud Uncovered After 30 Years

Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, two of Hollywood's biggest stars, have been the subject of an 'intense feud' for over 30 years, stemming from their time on the set of 1994's Interview with the Vampire. The pair, who starred together in the horror film, have since avoided collaborating, fueling speculation of a rift.

On-Set Tension Revealed

In a 1995 interview with Premiere, Pitt, now 62, admitted that production was a deeply uncomfortable experience. 'You gotta understand, Tom and I are… we walk in different directions. He's North Pole. I'm South. He's coming at you with a handshake, where I may bump into you, I may not, you know?' Pitt said. He added, 'I always thought there was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation. It wasn't nasty by any means, not at all. But it was just there and it bugged me a bit.'

Respect Amidst Rivalry

Despite the tension, Pitt offered respectful words for Cruise, saying, 'But I'll tell you, he catches a lot of s*** because he's on top, but he's a good actor and he advances in the film. He did it. I mean, you have to respect that.' The duo have not worked together since, though they came close to reuniting for 2018's Ford v Ferrari before budget issues scrapped initial production.

Recent Developments

In 2025, Cruise, 63, was notably absent from the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, an event he rarely misses, while Pitt was filming F1: The Movie there. Cruise was also said to be annoyed that Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski was helming the project. A fake AI-generated video of the stars fighting on a rooftop circulated online, but all changed at the premiere of F1: The Movie at Leicester Square's Cineworld, where the two embraced and laughed together. Cruise later posted photos on social media with the caption 'Great Night at the Movies', seemingly dispelling feud rumors.

Pitt's Joking 'Bitterness'

Pitt has since joked that he remains 'bitter' that Cruise overtook him on the final corner of a go-karting race while filming Interview with the Vampire. In a video interview, he also stated he would love to work with Cruise again, as long as he doesn't have to hang from airplanes like in Mission: Impossible.
