Tolbooth Stirling Wins Live Music Venue of the Year

The Tolbooth in Stirling has added another prestigious accolade to its collection, winning the Local Live Music Venue of the Year award at the Scottish Hospitality Awards. The venue secured the top prize after a public vote, beating six other nominees from across Scotland.

Public Vote Secures Victory

The award ceremony took place in Glasgow, where the Tolbooth was recognised for its contribution to the hospitality industry. This is the latest honour for the venue, which has twice won Venue of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards.

Praise from Council Leader

Convener of Stirling Council’s Finance, Economy and Culture Committee, Cllr Gerry McLaughlan, praised the venue's professionalism. He said: “This national recognition for Tolbooth Stirling reflects the dedication, passion and professionalism of our staff who deliver a top-class programme of live music that is enjoyed by a diverse range of audiences.”

He added: “The Tolbooth is one of Stirling’s cultural treasures. It’s an outstanding venue for live entertainment, whether that’s music, comedy, talks or the arts. It provides a platform for new and established artists and is a wonderful creative space for exhibitions and workshops.”

Nine other businesses and individuals across Stirling were also recognised at the awards. These included:

  • King Street Aparthotel in Stirling – Boutique Hotel of the Year
  • The Gallery Restaurant at Forth Valley College – Restaurant Dining Experience of the Year
  • Blair Drummond Safari Park (Stirling) – Recognised for Excellence in the Best Day Out
  • The Battle of Bannockburn Visitor Centre – Recognised for Excellence in the Visitor Day Attraction of the Year
  • Victoria Square and The Orangery – Outstanding Achievement in Boutique Hotel of the Year
  • Victoria Square Guest House – Outstanding Achievement in Bed & Breakfast of the Year
  • Castle Walk Bed & Breakfast – Recognised for Excellence in Bed & Breakfast of the Year
  • Trossachs Holiday Park – Recognised for Excellence in Best Holiday Park
  • Action Adventure Activities near Gartmore – Outstanding Achievement in Outdoor Activities of the Year

Impact on Stirling's Tourism

Cllr McLaughlan also congratulated the other winners, stating: “Congratulations to all the other award winners across Stirling. To have so many of our hospitality businesses recognised at the awards is a remarkable achievement and demonstrates the excellence, innovation and depth of this key sector.”

He continued: “From outstanding food and service to brilliant days out and outdoor activities, these businesses and the talented and committed people behind them, play a vital role in making Stirling the best place to visit in the UK and Scotland’s top tourist destination.”

As the school summer holidays approach, the council looks forward to welcoming visitors to Stirlingshire to enjoy everything the region has to offer.
