A former contestant on Tipping Point has revealed what host Ben Shephard is like when the cameras are not rolling. Ellie Millar, a social media star with 2.9 million TikTok followers, appeared on the ITV game show in 2022 and shared her experience in a TikTok video.
Millar described Shephard as 'so lovely' and said he greeted contestants warmly before filming. 'He was just talking to the producer and was like, "Hi guys, are you okay?"' she recalled. 'He was so, so lovely and I was a bit starstruck.'
Behind-the-scenes moments
Millar filmed her episode in May 2022, which aired in October of that year. She said the whole day was a blur and that she only remembers specific moments. After the show, Shephard asked if she wanted a photo, and she chatted with him about using her winnings for a trip to Bali.
Millar won £2,100 after performing 'terrible' in the final round. When offered the chance to risk it for £10,000, she chose to take the money. She added that producers made her sign a contract about when she would receive the winnings and that she was told not to disclose the outcome, though she admitted telling her mother.
