A woman who appeared on ITV's Tipping Point has revealed what host Ben Shephard was really like when the cameras stopped rolling. The beloved TV presenter has hosted the game show since it first aired in 2012.
Players tackle a legendary machine in pursuit of cash prizes. They answer questions to drop a coin into the apparatus, each counter representing £50. The jackpot counter is valued at £10,000, with the possibility of greater winnings if it falls alongside a double counter.
Ellie Millar's experience on the show
Social media star Ellie Millar, who has 2.9 million TikTok followers, appeared on Tipping Point in October 2022 after filming in May that year. She shared details of her experience with her followers, admitting that Ben was 'so lovely'.
Describing the moment before filming, she said: '(When) it was time to go to the stage and to meet Ben Shepherd. He was just talking to the producer and was like "hi guys, are you okay?" “He was so, so lovely and I was a bit starstruck. The whole day was such a blur, even thinking back on it now there's only specific things I remember.”
The final round and aftermath
Ellie beat her fellow contestants and played solo for up to £10,000 in the final round. She admitted she did 'terrible', managing to build her cashpot to just £2,100. When Ben asked if she wanted to keep playing for £10,000, she opted to take the money rather than gamble it.
Ellie said: 'After the show Ben was like "would you like to get a photo?" So yeah, I was chatting to Ben saying this money can get me and my boyfriend to Bali and I left. "The producers made me sign this contract to say when I would get the money, and that was it. "The only rules I was told is that I couldn't disclose to anyone what the outcome of the show was. I did tell my mum though, I'm not going to lie.'
