Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has addressed her future on the ITV soap after Monday's episode confirmed her character Sarah Platt as Theo Silverton's killer. The long-running whodunnit concluded with a flashback revealing that Sarah struck Theo with scaffolding and pushed him to his death, with Gary Windass helping cover up the crime.
Flashback Reveals Truth
During a tense dinner party, a flashback showed Sarah receiving a text from Todd Grimshaw, which was actually a trap set by Theo. At Todd's flat, Theo goaded Sarah, who grabbed a length of scaffolding and hit him, causing him to fall. Sarah then called Gary, who helped her conceal the incident.
O'Brien on Her Character's Arc
Speaking about the storyline, O'Brien said: "There was a lot of debate in the green room... I was really excited to be given the honour of being the murderer, and then hopefully, however it plays out, I'll enjoy Sarah's arc." She added that Sarah could face prison: "If she'd have called the police straight away... she would have been in a much better situation. But to cover it up... she knows that she crossed a line."
Future Uncertain
The episode ended with Gary declaring he can no longer keep Sarah's secret, threatening his marriage to Maria. O'Brien remains unsure of Sarah's fate but is embracing the storyline. Coronation Street continues weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
