Tina O'Brien's Character Set for New Romance Amid Marriage Split Reports

Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Platt on the long-running soap, is reportedly set for an explosive new storyline involving a romance with policeman Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts. The development comes amid rumours that O'Brien and her husband, Adam Croft, have split after 14 years together.

An insider told The Sun: 'Bosses are relieved that Tina is up for another year on the cobbles after losing some big names over the past months. She’s got big storylines coming up for Sarah including a juicy new romance with gorgeous PC Green.' The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.

O'Brien, 40, has been spotted without her wedding ring on multiple occasions in recent weeks, including during a coffee outing in Cheshire at the end of March. She has also unfollowed Croft on social media, while he has reciprocated. The couple, who share a 10-year-old son named Beau, are said to have been living separately since December.

A source claimed the pair 'grew apart' due to differing lifestyles: while Croft is fitness-focused, O'Brien enjoys socialising with friends. The source added: 'Tina is obviously really upset that it didn’t work out with Adam, but she's not hiding away at home.' O'Brien also has a 16-year-old daughter, Scarlett, from her previous relationship with Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas.
