Timothy Olyphant, known for roles in Deadwood and Justified, has been married to his college sweetheart Alexis Knief since 1991. The couple have three children together, including daughter Vivian, who appeared alongside her father in Justified: City Primeval. Alexis has largely stayed out of the spotlight, supporting Olyphant's career while raising their family.
In a 2011 interview with Women's Health, Olyphant shared the secret to their lasting marriage: 'You have to be with the right person, and you both have to be willing to do the work, day in and day out, to make it happen.' He often credits his wife for keeping him grounded and praises her sharp sense of humour.
Olyphant, 57, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and later moved to California. He recently revealed he is a descendant of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, making him a cousin of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, though the two have never met. When asked about the connection by the Hollywood Reporter, Olyphant joked, 'You're goddamn right I am, and somebody owes me money.'
Before finding fame as an actor, Olyphant worked as a swimming coach and briefly tried stand-up comedy. He told Marc Maron on the WTF podcast that he initially found comedy easy, but 'then the bombing started.' He now stars in the new FX series Alien: Earth, playing an android named Kirsh.
