Thomas Skinner, the former Apprentice star and current Strictly Come Dancing contestant, has issued a tearful apology after admitting to a brief affair with aesthetician Amy-Lucy O’Rourke. The 34-year-old, who married Sinead in May 2022, described the affair as a “moment of madness” that nearly “ruined his life.”
In a now-deleted post on X, Skinner shared a photo of a meal prepared by his wife and wrote about the importance of admitting mistakes. He said: “When you make a mistake no matter how long ago or how big or small, there are only three things you should do about it: admit it, learn from it, and definitely don’t repeat it.”
Skinner revealed that he confessed the affair to his wife immediately and that she forgave him. He said: “She had every right to leave me back then, but she forgave me… and that forgiveness changed my life. Since then, we’ve built a new home, had two more beautiful children, and moved forward together. We are stronger.”
The couple share son Henry, 5, and twin daughters Roma and Darla, 2. Skinner also addressed the public backlash, saying he feels he is being portrayed as “public enemy number 1” and questioned why people are trying to “break” him and get him “cancelled.”
Despite the scandal, Skinner remains committed to his marriage and his Strictly training. He said: “I still graft, I still go to work. In fact I’ve been working this morning before I start Strictly training.”
