Thomas Skinner, the former Apprentice star who was the first contestant eliminated from this series of Strictly Come Dancing, has said he regrets taking part in the BBC show due to the 'constant abuse' he has received. Skinner, 34, took to social media platform X to express his distress, claiming he has been subjected to a 'constant pile-on of abuse' since his appearance.
In a lengthy post, Skinner wrote: 'I wish I never done Strictly, I never fitted the bill for that show let's be honest. And it's caused me nothing but agg. Constant abuse.' He added that he can no longer go anywhere in public without being recognised and criticised, saying: 'I've had a narrative spun against me so people always have an opinion on me now that they didn't three months ago.'
The married father-of-three, who was partnered with professional dancer Amy Dowden, described how he was beeped at by fellow drivers while working in his van. 'Now people I've supported my whole life are starting to turn on me because they see what's going on online,' he wrote. 'It ain't real life. I think I need to take a break and concentrate on me and my family.'
Skinner concluded his post by admitting he is struggling: 'I ain't one to admit I'm struggling. But I am. I'm honestly tired of all this nonsense. Can no one see what's happening to me, I don't know why I've become this target.' He signed off with his catchphrase, 'bosh'.
