Singer Chappell Roan has addressed the buzz surrounding her daring outfit at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on 1 February. The 27-year-old, known for hits like 'Pink Pony Club', arrived at the ceremony in a backless burgundy gown held up by what appeared to be nipple piercings, paired with a sheer hooded cape.
Roan took to Instagram to share a breakdown of her look, which included prosthetic nipples created by special effects artist Sasha Glasser. 'Giggling because I don't even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit,' she wrote. 'The look's actually so awesome and weird. I recommend just exercising your free will it's really fun and silly :D.'
The custom Mugler ensemble also featured intricate tattoos across her back, which makeup artist Andrew Dahling described to Marie Claire as 'fantasy' and 'otherworldly' yet 'grounded'. Fans praised the outfit, with one commenting 'SHE MADE ME LOOK (respectfully)' and another urging others to 'have more FUNNNNN.'
