The future of Tess Daly on Strictly Come Dancing has been confirmed amid a major BBC shake-up. Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down from hosting duties at the end of the last series, with Emma Willis taking over alongside comedian Josh Widdecombe and dancer Johannes Radebe.
Willis's move to Strictly has sparked fears for the future of The Voice UK, which she previously hosted. A source told The Sun: 'The feeling is very much that The Voice UK is close to being officially done now. There isn’t much confidence in the success of the pre-recorded series which is why it has been held for so long.'
However, ITV has strongly denied these claims, stating that series 14 is coming up and production is already underway for series 15. An ITV spokesperson said: 'Any speculation that The Voice UK is coming to “a natural end” beyond the forthcoming series is categorically untrue. The show remains a much-loved part of ITV’s impressive entertainment slate.'
Willis expressed her excitement about joining Strictly, saying: 'It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Strictly... so to be stepping into the Strictly ballroom is something I can't quite comprehend.' She added that she hopes to help steer the ship as beautifully as Tess and Claudia have done.
