A former writer on Desperate Housewives has alleged that crew members deliberately avoided Teri Hatcher on set, describing a chaotic working environment under showrunner Marc Cherry.
Patty Lin, who worked on the show during its run, claims in her new memoir that the writing process was inefficient, with scripts often completed at the last minute. She wrote that Cherry would take over scripts in a golf cart and return them just before table reads or even filming.
Lin also recalled limited interaction with the cast, stating: 'Usually, we'd see the cast only at table reads where we'd sit quietly at the back and try not to make eye contact with Teri Hatcher.'
Hatcher has previously denied claims of difficult behaviour on set. In a 2013 interview, she said she was 'beyond generous' to the crew and could 'look in the mirror' with pride. The late Kathryn Joosten, who played Mrs McCluskey, noted that Hatcher was the friendliest cast member to her and the only one to contribute to a crew party.
Lin's memoir, End Credits: How I Broke Up with Hollywood, was released on 29 August.
