Taylor Swift has reportedly excluded Ryan Reynolds and wife Blake Lively from her wedding celebrations to NFL star Travis Kelce this weekend, deepening the rift between the pop superstar and the Hollywood couple.
Wedding Festivities Underway
Swift and Kelce kicked off their much-publicised celebrations at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday evening. Attendees included actress Lena Dunham and frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff, both spotted wearing formal attire. However, no sign of Lively or Wrexham co-owner Reynolds was seen.
According to photos published by TMZ, Reynolds was spotted with his wife and daughter Betty in Lake Placid on Thursday — over 200 miles away from Swift's wedding festivities.
Fallout Over Legal Battle
Lively was once one of Swift's closest friends, but the pair fell out during the actress's legal battle with Justin Baldoni. The dispute centered around the development of the film 'It Ends with Us', where Lively alleged that Baldoni had created a hostile workplace through inappropriate comments.
Swift was reportedly unhappy at being dragged into the dispute, with texts between her and Lively unsealed in court. Swift and Lively haven't been seen together in public since.
Source Confirms Snub
A source previously told Page Six that Swift, 36, “needs space” from the actress after her name was dragged into the lawsuits between Lively and her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, which ended in a surprise settlement in May.
Media speculation had claimed the event was both a pre-party and possible rehearsal dinner, with 100 people expected. According to the BBC, a much larger celebration is planned on Friday, with up to 1,000 guests at the arena.
It remains to be seen whether Reynolds and Lively will attend, but a report from Page Six last month claimed the duo would not be invited. “There hasn’t been an olive branch when it comes to their friendship,” a source said at the time. “And Taylor hasn’t extended a wedding invitation to Blake.”
