Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid shut down royal author Tom Bower during a heated debate about Meghan Markle on Monday's episode. Bower appeared on the ITV show to discuss his new book, which includes claims that Prince Harry has been 'brainwashed' by his wife.
Bower criticised Meghan's ambition and talent, stating she was 'not a great actress' and 'not a great television performer'. Reid interrupted him, saying: 'All you could say, like anybody, she's entitled to do her best, isn't she?'
The exchange escalated when Bower sarcastically remarked on Reid's kindness. Reid defended Meghan, revealing she had enjoyed Meghan's lifestyle series and even made her spaghetti recipe. Bower dismissed the recipe as 'dreadful', but Reid insisted she found it delicious.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond later commented on the controversy, noting that Bower's words had 'hit a very raw nerve' and that Harry would defend his wife 'to the end of the earth'.
