Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid took a playful swipe at This Morning star Cat Deeley during the live broadcast on Tuesday, July 7. The 55-year-old host was co-anchoring the ITV programme alongside Ed Balls when the lighthearted exchange occurred.
Segment with Vanessa Williams
During the show, Susanna and Ed interviewed actress Vanessa Williams, who is preparing for her final performance in The Devil Wears Prada musical in the West End. Before transitioning to This Morning hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard—who are filling in while Lorraine Kelly takes a break—Susanna asked Vanessa if she was a fan of the game show Tipping Point. Vanessa replied, "I love Tipping Point!" Susanna noted, "That's good you said that," before passing over to Ben and Cat.
Cheeky Remark About Cat's Dress
Gesturing toward Ben and Cat through the camera lens, Susanna continued: "Ben Shephard is right there, waiting to hear that you watch Tipping Point every day." An enthusiastic Ben responded, "Vanessa, lovely to see you. Sending lots of love! Thank you for being such a big fan." The This Morning presenters were seen enjoying ice creams on the blue sofa, as it was "so hot outside." Making a cheeky remark about Cat's off-the-shoulder outfit, Susanna said: "It's so hot, Cat's dress is falling off!" Ben swiftly joked, "Yes, it's supposed to be," before Cat clarified: "It's a one shoulder number."
This Morning's Upcoming Segments
Continuing with the programme, Ben said: "Shall we tell you what's coming up? We're going to be finding out about the viral ice cream makers that you can get. Are they worth the hype? This one certainly is." Cat added: "Also, staying with the heat. How do you stop yourself becoming a sweaty mess in the hot weather. A one shoulder helps me! Dr Zoe has the sweat solutions you need." Cat and Ben also teased appearances from Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland and TOWIE star Lauren Goodger.
Viewers Frustrated by Prince Harry Coverage
Elsewhere on today's GMB, viewers expressed frustration as the presenters devoted a substantial portion of the programme to unfolding news about Prince Harry. Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Duke of Sussex will not be residing at the palace during his London visit this week, despite his representatives announcing that he had accepted an invitation to stay. ITV viewers promptly took to X (formerly Twitter) with grievances after a royal row erupted live on air. One person wrote: "#GMB is obsessed with Prince Harry." Another added: "#GMB desperate to make a story out of nothing. Pathetic," while a third said: "Who actually cares? The constant discussion about this is boring and getting ridiculous." Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am, while This Morning airs at 10am.
