Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid was briefly forced to host the ITV show alone on Tuesday after co-host Ed Balls went missing from the studio. Upon returning from an advert break, Susanna, 55, asked: "Where's he gone?" as Ed, 59, was nowhere to be seen. She quipped: "Still to come on Good Morning Britain, we're talking about who is better at multitasking and Ed Balls has left the studio. So I think I'll take that as a win."
Ed Balls Returns After Toilet Break
A panicked Ed then ran back into the studio, revealing he had gone to the toilet during the break but it was further away than he realised. Susanna teased him: "Do you mean you can't multitask by going and having a comfort break and presenting at the same time?" Ed protested: "I had to walk Clapham! What can I say, it was quite a long way!"
Light-Hearted Banter Continues
Susanna later joked: "There wasn't a toilet within walking reach!" The segment was part of a discussion on multitasking, with Susanna noting that according to a new study, men are more likely to switch off when adding a conversation to juggling jobs. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV X.
