The Carnegie Mellon University student, who is home for the Christmas break, was seen bundled up against the cold on a shopping trip in the Big Apple.
A Mother-Daughter Day Out in the City
The pair were photographed navigating the New York streets, carrying shopping bags and takeaway coffees. Suri, who now goes by Suri Noelle, kept cosy in casual winter wear, sporting a green North Face puffer jacket over a hoodie, paired with blue jeans and brown UGG slippers. She carried a red purse and her mobile phone.
Meanwhile, her mother, Katie Holmes, 47, showcased her signature stylish look in a long pale beige coat, a matching beanie, and striking red slacks as she carried two boxes. The casual yet chic outing highlights the close bond between the mother and daughter.
Suri's College Life and Career Aspirations
Suri is currently furthering her education at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania, where she has just completed her freshman year. An insider recently revealed to the Daily Mail that the teenager is a "smart girl" turning into a "very intelligent mature young woman" with a clear sense of self.
Reports suggest she is "leaning towards" studying fashion, though she already has experience in the entertainment industry. In 2022, she lent her soprano vocals to a cover of "Blue Moon" for her mother's film, Alone Together.
A Glimpse into Family Dynamics
Suri is the only child of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, 63. The couple began dating in 2005, got engaged after just seven weeks, and married in November 2006 at Castello Orsini-Odescalchi in Bracciano. Suri was born in April of that same year.
Holmes filed for divorce in 2012, and it was finalised a mere ten days later. The settlement granted Katie primary custody of Suri, with Tom receiving visitation rights. Notably, Tom Cruise has not been photographed with his daughter in over 12 years, pointing to a reported long-term estrangement.
Despite this, Suri remains close to her mother's world. In August this year, she visited the outdoor New York City set of Katie's new film, Happy Hour, which also stars Holmes's former Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson.
