Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez have opened up about their differing views on expanding their family, with the Strictly Come Dancing professional ruling out a third child. The couple, who met on the show in 2017, discussed the topic on their podcast Lost In Translation.
Gemma, 41, admitted she felt broody after their son Thiago's two-year check-up, saying: "It does make you think, a third would be nice." However, Gorka, 35, was unequivocal in his response: "No." He added that their household, which includes daughter Mia, six, and their dog Benji, is "perfect" as it is.
The former Emmerdale star acknowledged she is not keen on being pregnant again but would consider adopting. She also suggested Gorka have a vasectomy, telling him: "Go and have the snip and then I’ll have no choice." Gorka noted that Gemma often changes her mind about family planning.
The couple, engaged since Valentine's Day 2021, are still deciding between marrying in England or Gorka's native Spain. Gemma previously revealed a poignant reason for delaying the wedding: she is the last Atkinson in her family line and does not want to give up her surname, which ties her to her late father.
