Loose Women star Kaye Adams has been confirmed as the fourth celebrity contestant for this year's Strictly Come Dancing, despite previously expressing reservations about the show's 'sexy' elements. The 59-year-old announced her participation on Friday's episode of the ITV daytime show, joining radio host Richie Anderson, who was unveiled earlier on BBC Radio 2.
Adams had said just a month ago: 'I couldn't handle the sexy stuff. The thought of my own face contorting into an Argentine tango pout would wake me up in the middle of the night and give me a heart attack.' She added that any partner paired with her would 'need therapy'. However, she now says she wants to 'make the last year of my 50s memorable' and show the world her 'two left feet'.
Anderson, 34, who presents travel bulletins on BBC Radio 2, expressed his excitement at being part of an all-male dance partnership, calling it a 'massive honour'. Strictly has previously featured two same-sex pairings, including Johannes Radebe and John Whaite in last year's final.
They join Coronation Street stars Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, both 46, who were announced on Thursday. The forthcoming 20th series will see live audiences return to the studio, with the launch show scheduled for September 7. Four new professional dancers will also join the show's largest ever roster, following the departures of Oti Mabuse and Aljaz Skorjanec.
