The cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 has begun rehearsals in London, with stars including Zara McDermott, Ellie Leach, and Amanda Abbington spotted arriving at the dance studio. The celebrities were seen carrying suitcases and wearing comfortable workout gear, ready to start training for the upcoming series.
Zara McDermott, who has expressed plans to be the 'sexiest ever contestant', arrived in tiny shorts and trainers. Former professional tennis player Annabel Croft wore olive green leggings and a matching vest top. Coronation Street star Ellie Leach opted for a floaty white vest top and leggings, saying: “It still doesn’t feel real that I’m going to be doing Strictly!! It’s always been a dream of mine.”
Amanda Abbington, the first celebrity confirmed for this year's show, was pictured in a headband, black tank top, and baggy dark blue trackies with light pink trainers. The Sherlock star said: “I’m actually really shy and self-conscious so this will be a great opportunity for me to overcome those things! I’m really looking forward to the training too, I’m quite competitive.”
Other arrivals included Les Dennis, EastEnders actor Nigel Harman, and veteran newsreader Angela Rippon. Emmerdale star Adam Thomas was absent, having recently revealed a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, which has caused him significant pain.
