Strictly Come Dancing professional Carlos Gu was visibly emotional as his joint-headline tour with Amy Dowden came to an end on Saturday, June 21. Amy Dowden captured the moment on video, showing Carlos in tears, and shared it on Instagram with a heartfelt message.
Tour Concludes After Successful Run
The duo's show, Reborn, first hit the stage last year and returned for a second run, including a performance at The Lowry in Salford earlier this month. The tour featured a mix of new and classic dance numbers, with styles ranging from Jive to Paso Doble.
Amy, who underwent a second mastectomy in November last year after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2023, spoke to the Manchester Evening News ahead of the tour. She said: "I think it's an even deeper, more personal show. The relationship between Carlos and me has grown even stronger, especially after doing Celebrity Hunted together and spending so much time with each other. Our journeys have evolved too - Carlos went on to win Strictly, and I’ve had my surgery, so I'm back stronger and better than ever."
Emotional Farewell and Fan Reactions
Amy's Instagram post read: "It’s been emotional! The most special, meaningful tour we wasn’t ready to say goodbye! From the bottom of our hearts thank you! Tour cast and crew we love you. Fellow Strictly star Katya Jones commented: "Oh we love you Gu [heart emoji]." Fans also expressed their support, with one writing: "Same carlos same. Can't believe its all over, the best and most special tour."
