Strictly Come Dancing Fans Divided Over New Logo Design for 2026 Series
Strictly Fans Split Over New Logo for 2026 Series

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left disgruntled by a new change to the show. Excitement is building as the BBC programme begins announcing contestants for the highly anticipated 2026 series. With bosses said to have given the new series a major shake-up, many viewers are curious about what changes still lie in store.

Following months of announcements of professional dancers leaving the line-up and new hosts joining the dance programme, fans have been waiting for any more switch-ups to be declared. However, it seems that one smaller change has had the biggest reaction from viewers.

With some fans saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," many social media users have been left in shock after seeing the brand new Strictly logo. Shown in the contestant announcements of Lacey Turner and returning Dani Dyer, many fans have shared their disagreement on the new design.

Fans have been so shocked by the change that a dedicated Reddit thread has been created, asking the question: "Is this really the new logo or just a placeholder?" Many social media users were quick to share their opinions, with a few saying it looks like it was created by AI.

Over the past seasons, fans have become used to the Strictly logo being a shining glitterball with the title wrapped in front against a blue sparkling background. However, the new design has embraced a dark gold glitterball, a change in the font, and a purple backdrop.

Sharing their disbelief, one Reddit user wrote: "As a graphic designer this isn't great. I can't believe this is a final logo." While another person asked: "Is it just me or does the text feel out of focus/fuzzy?"

Some people believe AI helped create the image, as one person said: "I think it's AI because it's doing something to my eyes that only happens when I see an AI image." Another wrote: "The background feels very AI to me." A fifth commenter added: "It looks cheap to me too. I work in graphics and this is a very sloppy job." One person plainly wrote: "If it ain’t broke, DON’T FIX IT!"

However, some people are impressed by the new design, with one fan commenting: "I genuinely love it! And I think it's 100x better than the dull last version." Someone else agreed, adding: "I think it looks great! The purple and gold textures are beautiful and it's nice to mix it up too."

Despite the mixed opinions on the Strictly logo, many fans have been excited to see the first couple of celebrities being announced for the show this year. The first contestant to be announced was Lacey Turner, best known for playing Stacey Slater on EastEnders. While Lacey left Albert Square back in 2025, she is now ready to put on her dancing shoes.

Speaking about the announcement, the 38-year-old said: "I am so excited to be making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing. I am a huge fan and can’t quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year. I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill."

Earlier today (June 11), it was announced that former Love Island star Dani Dyer will be making a second attempt at the Strictly ballroom after having to withdraw from last year's competition due to an injury. However, she is now back in tip-top condition and is ready to enjoy some spray tan and glitter. She said: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September. I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one. I’m just over the moon and cannot wait to find out who else is doing it."
