Strictly Come Dancing professionals Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu are making an early return to television on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, ahead of their confirmed comeback to the BBC dance show later this year. The duo will appear on the hit reality series, providing commentary on the week's best TV shows.
Duo Join Celebrity Gogglebox Line-Up
Amy Dowden, 35, who has been a Strictly professional since 2017, and Carlos Gu, who joined in 2022, are the latest stars to join the line-up of Celebrity Gogglebox. They recently completed a UK tour together called Amy & Carlos: Reborn. The pair are known for their long-running roles on the BBC competition and are now set to bring their chemistry to the Channel 4 show.
Amy described the experience as "such a treat," adding: "Celebrity Gogglebox was fab-u-lous! I'm so used to being on my feet performing, it was such a treat to sit back, laugh, and react to all those brilliant shows. Of course, I loved being able to share those genuine, feel-good moments with Carlos and everyone watching at home."

Amy will be joined on the sofa by Carlos, and the pair are "so excited" to provide their "brutally honest" commentary. Carlos said: "I had the best time – honestly, it was so much fun! I'm very expressive anyway, so you can imagine, I don't hold back when I'm watching TV! Celebrity Gogglebox is all about emotion, humour and just enjoying yourself, and that's exactly what I love. It felt like me and Amy were having our own little party on the sofa!"
Carlos won the coveted glitterball trophy during the latest series of Strictly alongside former professional footballer Karen Carney. Amy took a break from the show in 2023 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing treatment including chemotherapy and two mastectomies. She made a full return to the ballroom in 2025 and appeared on the latest series, partnered with The Apprentice star Tom Skinner.
Return to Strictly Confirmed for September 2026
Both Amy and Carlos have been confirmed by the BBC as returning to Strictly for the 2026 series, which is due to start in September. They will be joined by other professionals including Alexis Warr, Kai Widdrington, Aljaz Skorjanec, Jowita Przystal, Julian Caillon, Dianne Buswell, Katya Jones, Lauren Oakley, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin and Vito Coppola.
Celebrity Gogglebox returns at 9pm on Friday, June 26, on Channel 4.
