Strictly Come Dancing movie week routines revealed

Strictly Come Dancing has revealed the routines the celebrity contestants will treat viewers to for movie week, which includes animal-themed dances inspired by animations such as Zootropolis and Ratatouille.

Stars return for second live show

The stars return to the dancefloor on Saturday for the second live show of the season to perform routines inspired by a range of classic films, award-winning blockbusters, musicals and cartoons.

The BBC dancing competition will open with a pre-recorded routine based around Disney animation Zootropolis, with the professionals dressed as animals such as a bunny and a gazelle as they dance to Shakira's tracks from the first film and its 2025 sequel: Try Everything and Zoo.

Judges join special routines

Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood are among the judges who will participate in a separate routine inspired by 2006 cult classic The Devil Wears Prada – joining the professionals as they dance to Lady Gaga's Runway and Shape Of A Woman.

In a first glimpse at the episode, Mabuse embodies main character Miranda Priestly – a ruthless fashion magazine boss played by Meryl Streep – in the routine.

Celebrity pairings and dances

Elsewhere in the programme, former Love Island winner Dani Dyer will return to the dancefloor with Nikita Kuzmin with a foxtrot to the title track from Disney film Beauty And The Beast.

It comes as the TV star finally made her Strictly debut last week, after she had to pull out of the show last year because of an injury.

Australian singer Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington will perform an American smooth to Lady Gaga's I'll Never Love Again from 2018 film A Star Is Born, while actress Jaime Winstone will cha cha with Carlos Gu to the title track from 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman.

Social media star John Nellis and Katya Jones, who topped the leaderboard last week with a foxtrot to Alex Warren's Ordinary, will perform their couple's choice to An Irish Party In Third Class from 1998 romantic drama Titanic.

Actress Bethany Antonia and her partner Nancy Xu will be doing a paso doble to No Good Deed from Wicked: For Good, while Dame Sarah Storey and Julian Caillon will perform a Charleston to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins.

Olympian Tabby Stoecker will do an American smooth with her partner Mark Karmalita to Rewrite The Stars from The Greatest Showman, while former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr will salsa to You Should Be Dancing from 1977 film Saturday Night Fever.

Other performances include a cha cha to I'm Always Here from Baywatch by Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden, and a waltz by Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly trainer Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley to The Godfather Waltz from the 1972 crime film starring Al Pacino and Marlon Brando.

Earlier this week, it was also revealed that former Love Island winner Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby will samba to We Go Together from hit musical Grease, while Emmerdale's Lawren Robb will Viennese waltz with Jowita Przystal to Le Festin from Pixar film Ratatouille.

It comes after a previous announcement said EastEnders actress Lacey Turner will perform a quickstep with partner Vito Coppola to Taylor Swift's track I Knew It, I Knew You from the latest Toy Story film.

Elsewhere, TV presenter Will Best and Dianne Buswell will dance a foxtrot to Old Time Rock And Roll from 1983 film Risky Business, while Gavin And Stacey actress Melanie Walters and partner Aljaz Skorjanec waltz to Edelweiss from The Sound Of Music.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday at 6.15pm.
