Actress Jaime Winstone has been announced as the eighth celebrity contestant for the 2026 series of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. The 41-year-old, daughter of actor Ray Winstone, will make her ballroom debut when the show returns in September.
Speaking about joining the cast, Jaime said: “I am so excited to announce that I will be joining the Strictly Come Dancing cast this year. I am no stranger to a dance floor, but the ballroom is a whole new world for me.” She added: “I love a challenge though, so can’t wait to enter my showgirl era and get super sparkly! Let’s get physical – see you on the dance floor!”
Acting career and personal life
Jaime is known for films including Made In Dagenham, Bullet Boy and Tomb Raider. She has also appeared in TV shows such as Dead Set, Poirot and the BBC TV movie Babs, where she played Dame Barbara Windsor. She has also starred in the West End production of 2:22 A Ghost Story.
Jaime married James Suckling in October 2023 after eight years together. Their son, Raymond Jnr, named after his grandfather, was born in 2016.
Fellow contestants and new hosts
Jaime will join previously announced contestants Lacey Turner, Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Chris Appleton, Cach Mercer, Will Best and Dame Sarah Storey.
Broadcaster Emma Willis, professional dancer Johannes Radebe and comedian Josh Widdicombe are the new hosts of the BBC show, replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who announced their departure late last year.
Further celebrities will be announced throughout the summer ahead of the new series airing on BBC One and iPlayer this September.
