Stephen Graham's Liverpool Homecoming for Book Launch

Stephen Graham will take the stage at the Liverpool Playhouse on September 23, 2026, for a special event launching his groundbreaking book Letters To Our Sons. The book, co-created with psychology lecturer Orly Klein, is a collection of letters from fathers to their sons, inspired by Graham's experience making the Netflix drama Adolescence.

Book Details and Contributors

The book, published by Bloomsbury General, features contributions from high-profile names including Javier Bardem, Louis Theroux, Danny Dyer, Riz Ahmed, Tom Daley, and Chris Kamara, among others. The call for letters ran from October 15, 2025, to January 12, 2026, and received an overwhelming response from fathers of all backgrounds. Katy Follain, head of Bloomsbury General, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the response to Stephen and Orly’s call-out, which prompted dads from all backgrounds and with a huge range of experiences to write in."

Event Details

The Liverpool Playhouse event will take place on September 23, one day before the book's official release on September 24. Graham will be joined on stage by Orly Klein and special guests to share selected letters. Tickets go on sale at 10am on July 3, 2026, via www.everymanplayhouse.com. A second event will be held at FANE Central Hall Westminster on September 24.

Charity and Impact

For every letter published, Stephen and Orly will donate to charities MANUP? and Dad La Soul, which support young men with mental health struggles. Graham said: "After the huge impact of Adolescence, I realised there was a greater need for communication between fathers and sons." The event marks a full-circle moment for Graham, who began his acting career at the Everyman Youth Theatre, a sister theatre to the Playhouse.
