Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash appeared on Heart Breakfast with Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Friday, where the couple were asked if they were planning on having more children. Stacey delivered a mysterious five-word reply that caused a stir in the studio.
Amanda Holden's Probing Question
Following a chat about their hectic life at Pickle Cottage, which the television personalities share with five of their children - Zachary, 17, Leighton, 13, six-year-old Rex, four-year-old Rose, and three-year-old Belle - Amanda playfully probed the duo: "That's it, right? Is that it?"
Stacey appeared to waver momentarily before responding "yeah", causing the entire studio to burst into laughter. Jamie declared: "Hold on a minute," and Amanda highlighted the mum-of-five's telling "pause".
Joe Swash's Perspective
Former EastEnders star Joe, who also has a 19-year-old son, Harry, with his former partner Emma Sophocleous, offered his perspective: "Look, I'm very clear on the matter. I love kids, but, you know, it's not my decision anymore. Stacey's been pregnant for... what? Nearly 10 years! So she needs a break."
"Five times, five times! It's been 10 long years!" Stacey chimed in. Nevertheless, Jamie was swift to highlight that the couple hadn't entirely addressed the question.
A Cryptic Response
The host of Sort Your Life Out then conceded: "You can never say never, can you?" Amanda, a mother of two herself, concurred before jokingly adding: "But, you've got a five-a-side team!" Joe then quipped: "We could do with a couple of subs though!"
Amanda went on to propose that now all their children are in school or nursery, Joe and Stacey might miss having their little ones around during the day. However, it seems the former X Factor star already has a plan in place.
Rescuing Animals Instead
She responded: "No, we're going with, 'let's rescue animals instead' - adopt some animals!" The couple have done exactly that, with Stacey revealing on Instagram this week that they "are officially Pony Foster Parents".
The celebrity shared a video of the charming ponies, named Thumbelina and Mermaid, who were saved by the Redwings Horse Sanctuary. Stacey captioned the clip: "We have a grass area sectioned off for them and also a dry area. Redwings will check in and visit us and give us all of the guidance we need to be the best pony parents for mermaid and Thumbelina."
"One of my dearest friends Lianne from the incredible Hopefield Animal sanctuary is going to be our Pony hand/extra pony Mumma. As we do not take rescuing animals lightly and want to be the absolute best foster parents we can be."
"We can't even describe how incredible it feels to be able to do this. I dreamed of rescuing animals growing up. 7 year old me would not believe where we are today. Welcome to the family girls. We love you so much already."
