Stacey Solomon Hits Back at Trolls Over 'Trying to Look 20' Accusations
Stacey Solomon Fires Back at Trolls Over Age Comments

Stacey Solomon has hit back at trolls who accused her of 'trying to look 20' after she posted new snaps on Instagram. The 36-year-old Sort Your Life Out star addressed the criticism on her Instagram story, sharing a comment that said she should dress more appropriately for her age.

Stacey's Response to Age Criticism

Speaking on her Instagram story, Solomon read out a troll's comment and responded: 'I… you know when you read something and you just think my God. I’m sorry but… says who? Like what is age appropriate? Anything over children’s sizes, there is no age limit.'

She continued: 'When I pick up a top it doesn’t say oh thirty-five and under, you can’t have this one. What do you mean?? I was just minding my own business feeling really pretty in all the dresses that I picked up for myself. I wasn’t thinking am I too old or too young to wear these.'

Empowering Message to Followers

Solomon then delivered a positive message, urging her followers to wear what they love. 'Let me tell you something. If you ever see anything and you think oh I really like that, I’m going to get it for myself… Get it. Don’t even think about the people out there who are like can’t wear that, oh it’s too young for you, oh it’s not age appropriate. Just don’t even think about it. If you like it and it makes you happy, wear it. Never let anyone tell you you can’t wear something, for any reason. Size, age, hair, colour, whatever. Wear what makes you happy. Anyway, that was my rant for the night.'

Previous Comments on Being Underestimated

This is not the first time Solomon has addressed criticism. She previously explained how she is often labelled as 'stupid' due to her background and appearance, but she uses it to her advantage. 'The thing is, I come from Dagenham and I’ve still got the accent. I didn’t have a private education. I’m blonde. I’m of a happy disposition most of the time. Those characteristics label me as stupid. It used to make me angry, but now I use it to my advantage. If I’m underestimated, I can only impress people. The truth is that most of the time I’m just winging it and faking it till I make it,' she said.

She added: 'You can get to the top of your game as a woman in this industry and still be paid less than a man. Making it in this industry is a f***ing triumph. Forgive my swears. But it should be celebrated.'

Dealing with Anxiety and Control

Solomon also opened up about dealing with anxiety and the challenges of being a woman in the entertainment industry. 'It’s hard to accept that you can’t control everything, especially when you’re ambitious and you feel like a powerful woman most of the time. It can be really daunting when something is out of your control. I think I’ll always have moments of anxiety, but [now] I’m much better at being able to feel in control,' she said.
