Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are reportedly preparing to move out of Pickle Cottage, the Essex property they have called their 'forever home' since 2021. The couple, who have raised six children there, are said to have found a new fixer-upper nearby, marking a new chapter in their relationship.
How Stacey and Joe Met
The pair first crossed paths in 2010 when Stacey won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Joe, who had won the show in 2008, was hosting the ITV2 spin-off. They became friends, but romance did not blossom immediately as Stacey was in a relationship at the time. Joe later admitted he had fancied the X Factor star but the timing was wrong.
Going Public and First Home
In 2016, after Stacey's split from Steve-O, rumours of a romance surfaced when they were pictured arm-in-arm. They confirmed their relationship in January 2016, with Joe calling himself 'really lucky'. They made their first red carpet appearance together at a Game Of Thrones screening in March 2016. In 2019, they bought their first house together, with Joe moving in with Stacey's two sons, Zachary and Leighton. Joe is also father to Harry from a previous relationship.
Children and Engagement
In May 2019, Stacey gave birth to their son Rex. Joe announced the birth on social media, writing: 'This morning. A lot earlier than planned I watched the love of my life, bring a new life into the world. We are overwhelmed, overjoyed and apprehensive of what’s to come.' On Christmas Eve 2020, Joe proposed in the woodlands where they walk with their children, with a floral arrangement and a hidden GoPro capturing the moment. Stacey wrote: 'To the moon and back bub. I have no words.'
Moving into Pickle Cottage
In March 2021, the family moved into Pickle Cottage, a country house with 2.5 acres of land. The property was named after their son Rex, who is nicknamed Pickle. Stacey shared her excitement on social media: 'Home Sweet Home. And so a new chapter begins... We feel so lucky and are so grateful to have found this hidden treasure.'
Second Child and Wedding
In October 2021, Stacey gave birth to their daughter Rose on her own birthday, at Pickle Cottage. They married at the property in July 2022, with children Leighton, Zachary, Rex, Rose, and Harry present. Stacey described the day as 'a dream'. Joe's vows included: 'Stacey, you are the love of my life. You’re my soulmate, I promise to love you, to protect you, to look after you and our family and I’ll never let you down.'
Third Child and Reality Show
In 2023, Stacey gave birth to their third child, Belle, at home in Pickle Cottage. The couple then launched their own BBC reality show, Stacey & Joe, in 2025, with a third series confirmed. The show offers a glimpse into their 'beautiful chaos' at Pickle Cottage.
Leaving Pickle Cottage
In 2026, reports emerged that the couple are moving out of Pickle Cottage. A source told the Mirror: 'It’s a fresh start. Pickle Cottage has been a place where Stacey and Joe’s relationship has been up and down.' The move is seen as a new beginning for the family.
