Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have given a cryptic five-word update on whether they will expand their blended family of six children. Appearing on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden on Friday morning, the couple was pressed about their plans for more kids.
Amanda Holden's Cheeky Question
After discussing life at Pickle Cottage, which the TV stars share with five of their children—Zachary, 17, Leighton, 13, Rex, six, Rose, four, and Belle, three—Amanda Holden cheekily asked: "That's it, right? Is that it?" Stacey hesitated before saying "yeah," sparking laughter in the studio. Jamie Theakston noted her pause, while Amanda referenced the mum-of-five's hesitation.
Joe Swash's View
Joe Swash, who also has a 19-year-old son Harry from a previous relationship with Emma Sophocleous, shared his perspective: "Look, I'm very clear on the matter. I love kids, but, you know, it's not my decision anymore. Stacey's been pregnant for... what? Nearly 10 years! So she needs a break." Stacey added, "Five times, five times! It's been 10 long years!"
Cryptic Five-Word Response
When pressed further, Stacey admitted: "You can never say never, can you?" Amanda, who has two children, agreed, joking: "But, you've got a five-a-side team!" Joe quipped: "We could do with a couple of subs though!" The couple's five-word response—"You can never say never"—left the door open for future additions.
Rescuing Animals Instead
Amanda suggested the couple might miss having children around during the day now that all are at school or nursery. Stacey revealed their alternative: "No, we're going with, 'let's rescue animals instead' - adopt some animals!" The couple have already become foster parents to two ponies, Thumbelina and Mermaid, rescued by Redwings Horse Sanctuary. Stacey announced on Instagram: "We are officially Pony Foster Parents."
She shared a video of the ponies and wrote: "We have a grass area sectioned off for them & also a dry area. Redwings will check in and visit us and give us all of the guidance we need to be the best pony parents for mermaid and Thumbelina. One of my dearest friends Lianne from the incredible Hopefield Animal sanctuary is going to be our Pony hand/extra pony Mumma. As we do not take rescuing animals lightly and want to be the absolute best foster parents we can be. We can’t even describe how incredible it feels to be able to do this. I dreamed of rescuing animals growing up. 7 year old me would not believe where we are today. Welcome to the family girls. We love you so much already."
