SNL UK star Paddy Young has been rushed to hospital after a horror accident involving a samurai sword. The comedian, who recently gained fame as a cast member on Sky's Saturday Night Live UK, shared details and photos of the incident on social media.

The 34-year-old TV personality took to social media to reveal the shocking news. Alongside images from his hospital bed and during his recuperation, he disclosed: "Cut my finger with a samurai sword!"
He continued: "Thank you, Bebe Ed Horatio, for breastfeeding me back to good health. Thank you, Sam, for bringing the sword to my home and running away when I fainted." Paddy cheekily added: "Fringe run 90% sold out. Tendon 90% lacerated. Aura 100% lost. Tour selling fast - see u there."
Hospital Photos
In one photograph, the comedian was beaming from his hospital bed despite his entire left hand being wrapped in bandages. In additional shots, Paddy struck poses with worried friends while sporting a sling and keeping his spirits up.
While he seemed to be on the mend, devoted fans flooded the comments section with messages of support. One wrote: "Nooooooooooo! Hope you will feel better soon, Paddy." Another responded: "Man, those compression socks are the worst! Get well soon, Paddy."
A follower observed: "This is a very chill response to a friend causing you to lose the use of your hand." A fourth contributed: "Omg get better soon bud, we miss you on our TV screens on Saturday nights, good luck with touring."
Meanwhile, SNL UK director Will Ferrell quipped: "Sam told me he thought the sword wouldn't have cut you if you were honourable."

Paddy joined the British SNL ensemble alongside Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, and Emma Sidi.
Despite its contentious debut, SNL UK has been greenlit for a second series, officially confirmed in May. As reported by Deadline, the satirical sketch comedy will return for 12 additional episodes, slated to broadcast in autumn 2026.
