The critically acclaimed spy thriller Slow Horses has confirmed its season 6 plot and release date, much to the delight of fans. The Apple TV series, based on Mick Herron's novels, will return on Wednesday, September 16.
What to Expect in Season 6
Starring Gary Oldman as the flatulent spymaster Jackson Lamb, the show follows a dysfunctional team of MI5 agents banished to the dumping ground department known as Slough House. The ensemble cast includes Jack Lowden as River, Christopher Chung as hacker Roddy Ho, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Aimee-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, and Tom Brooke as JK Coe.
In the upcoming season, the Slow Horses find themselves on the run after Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) embroils them in a 'fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.' The storyline is believed to adapt Herron's sixth and seventh novels, Joe Country and Slough House. The former sees the team head to a snowbound region of Wales to settle a deadly score. In espionage slang, a 'Joe' refers to an agent in the field, and 'Joe Country' denotes where agents operate independently.
Joining the cast is Bafta-winning actor Lenny Rush, known for Am I Being Unreasonable?

Season 6 is adapted by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe, with Adam Randall returning to direct. All seasons are available on Apple TV+.
