Music mogul and Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has found himself in a uniquely close living situation with a figure from his past. His former girlfriend, Jackie St Clair, a one-time Page Three model, has purchased a property directly next door to his prestigious Cotswolds estate.
From Whirlwind Romance to Next-Door Neighbours
Simon Cowell, 66, and Jackie St Clair first dated over four decades ago in the 1970s, sharing a whirlwind romance. Despite parting ways romantically, the pair have famously remained friends over the years, even holidaying together after their split. This is not the first time they have lived in close proximity; their previous homes in London's exclusive Holland Park were also just a stone's throw apart.
However, their latest adjacency in one of the UK's most sought-after postcodes is raising eyebrows. A local source revealed, "Jackie has snapped up a place that backs on to Simon’s. If Simon looks out of his kitchen window he can see Jackie, and vice versa." The insider added, "She’s married well and her house is larger than his so there’s definitely some one-upmanship going on."
A History of Tension with Close Friend Sinitta
The new living arrangement is likely to cause a stir given Jackie's reported history of conflict with Cowell's close friend and another ex-partner, singer Sinitta. In 2010, Sinitta, now 62, publicly accused Jackie of "evil lying" over gossip concerning Cowell's engagement status to then-girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy.
Sinitta stated at the time, "Jackie St Clair, you are the source of all lies and wrong info. I'm sorry after 25 years you still won't stop harassing and bullying." Tensions reportedly flared again in 2023 when Sinitta was turned away by security at a party hosted by Jackie for attempting to bring her dog, which was not permitted.
Celebrity Enclave and Planning Permissions
Simon Cowell relocated to the Cotswolds in 2021, joining a growing list of celebrity residents in the area, from David and Victoria Beckham to US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. The news of his ex's move comes as Cowell himself has submitted plans to build a 793sq ft party barn in the grounds of his Grade II-listed country home, a structure roughly the size of an average new-build UK house.
Cowell, who is engaged to long-term partner Lauren Silverman, has so far remained silent on the new neighbour development. His spokesperson declined to comment when approached.
