Sian Welby Opens Up About Pressure to Match Co-Stars' Glamour

This Morning presenter Sian Welby has spoken candidly about the 'intense' pressure she feels to maintain a glamorous appearance on screen, admitting she has struggled to 'keep up' with fellow broadcasters including Amanda Holden and Ashley Roberts.

The 39-year-old, who began her career at Heart Radio before hosting Capital Breakfast and This Morning, revealed that watching her impeccably dressed colleagues left her feeling unable to compete. 'You had people like Amanda Holden with incredible outfits every day, or Ashley Roberts,' she said. 'They are so effortless, they do it so well. They just nail it. But I knew that that was almost too intense for me to try and keep up with that.'

Sian also warned fans against blowing their budget on designer clothes and accessories, noting that even some of the biggest pop stars she has interviewed confessed to wearing fakes. 'Please don't get yourself in a mess trying to keep up with designer handbags and trainers,' she advised. 'If you're trying to keep up with something that financially you cannot do, I think you've got to see that as an alarm bell.'

Speaking on the Talk In Wardrobe podcast, the mother-of-one shared her preference for vintage bargains on eBay or Vinted, or high street alternatives from brands like M&S. She also addressed the competitive nature of 'school run' dressing, saying she wants to avoid that pressure while still maintaining her own style.
