Si King 'very happy' as he finds love again

Hairy Bikers star Si King has said he is 'very happy' as he revealed that he has found love ten years after splitting with his ex-wife, calling his new partner a 'very special lady'.

The TV chef, who was one half of the Hairy Bikers duo alongside the late Dave Myers, has shared how his romance with his girlfriend, Milly, has been helping him overcome his grief following his best friend and co-star's death at the age of 66 in 2024.

Finding happiness after loss

Si previously told how Dave's death left him feeling lost, and he admitted he had considered 'riding into the sunset' as he wanted to be left alone and cut off. But it appears he has let someone into his life, the Mirror reports.

The 59-year-old, who has three sons with his ex-wife Jane Dodd, told The Sunday Times magazine: "She is a very special lady. She really is. I'm very happy. It's been wonderful and continues to be wonderful. And you know, I think the lads are really happy, as is my ex-wife Jane, actually."

Reflecting on his marriage

Si and Jane were married for 27 years before separating in 2016 and the chef felt that the demands of his TV work caused the relationship to fall apart. He said: "It's about being present, and I think for very many years I wasn't present. And my home life suffered."

Earlier this month, Si admitted that grief is a 'constant surprise' and he is still processing the loss of his pal. The Bikers came to an end with the death of Dave in February 2024, and Si had admitted he didn't "know what else to do" as he dealt with his grief.

Grief as a 'constant surprise'

Speaking to The Times, he said: "Grief's a funny thing because it's as individual as those who are feeling it. And it's as complex as the character that is feeling it. It's painful and it is a constant surprise because there are some days that ... Well, it's a plethora of emotions, isn't it? It's all the emotions.

"It's confusion. It's anger. It's abandonment. It's all those things that you feel as a human being when you lose somebody that important."

But, in his new interview, when asked how he's doing at the moment, Si added: "I'm all right, I mean look, it's challenging and I continue to work probably too hard, but I kind of don't know what else to do."
