The mother of I'm A Celebrity star Shona McGarty has given her seal of approval to rapper Aitch, describing him as a 'lovely boy' amid rumours of a jungle romance. Jennifer, 69, a retired school business manager, said the pair's playful pillow fight – which culminated in Aitch wrapping his legs around Shona – has been her favourite moment so far.
Speculation about a potential romance between Mancunian Aitch, 25, and Shona was ignited when he confessed to campmate Angry Ginge that he has a 'soft spot' for her. Speaking to The Sun, Jennifer said: 'I am loving it – she has relaxed into it now which obviously makes me really happy. I enjoyed the pillow fight and seeing her fun side coming out.'
Last week, viewers saw Aitch cuddling Shona and holding her hand as they watched a trial together. Things intensified when they were caught gazing into each other's eyes before engaging in a pillow fight in the losers' camp, Doomsville. When Aitch wrapped his legs around her, Shona quipped: 'Why are your thighs so strong?'
Even hosts Ant and Dec have noticed the chemistry. Dec said live on air: 'Getting very cosy aren't they,' before smirking. Fans also had their say, with some suggesting Aitch deliberately lost to be in the loser camp with Shona. One fan said: 'Aitch and Shona are so cute and I am SO HERE FOR IT.'
Shona's sister Camila also commented: 'He is a nice guy... I would definitely have him around for Christmas.' Jennifer added: 'I think they are very similar characters. They've both got that playfulness. He is a lovely boy. We would definitely invite him over for dinner.' She hinted at a potential romance, saying they could be 'great mates' and adding: 'Who knows.'
Shona, 34, recently ended her engagement to guitarist David Bracken and has spoken about her five-year battle with anxiety and depression.
