EastEnders Star Shona McGarty Arrives in Australia for I'm A Celebrity

EastEnders actress Shona McGarty has landed in Australia ahead of the new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here. The 33-year-old, who played Whitney Dean on the BBC soap, is the third celebrity to arrive for the ITV jungle show, which returns next Sunday.

Upon arriving at Brisbane Airport, McGarty joked: “I got on the wrong flight! I’m gonna have to ask for directions back now.” When asked what she would miss about the UK, she replied: “Not a lot. I really want to see a kangaroo. I’ve never seen one in my life.”

Model and Loose Women star Kelly Brook was the first to touch down, followed by Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley. Brook, 45, said: “I am going to miss my dog Teddy, my husband Jeremy, and my food in general.” She also joked about visiting a “distant cousin” and looking forward to seeing koalas and kangaroos.

Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle on Emmerdale, said: “I am a Dingle, I can cope with anything… We did Dingles Down Under many years ago and I feel it’s only right we do it again.” The 49-year-old added she could handle creepy-crawlies as she has worked on a farm.

Other expected contestants include musician Martin Kemp, YouTuber Morgan Burtwistle, comedian Ruby Wax, TV presenter Alex Scott, and Jack Osbourne. ITV will formally announce the line-up next week, with two latecomers expected to enter the jungle later. Ant and Dec will host the 25th series.
