Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has revealed she was rushed to hospital after a frightening fall at home. The 65-year-old told fans she fell backwards and hit her head on a glass dressing table, prompting a precautionary brain scan.
Ballas spent Saturday undergoing checks and scans to ensure no serious damage had occurred. Doctors told her she was lucky to escape with only minor injuries. In an Instagram post, she wrote: 'Trip to hospital to get a brain scan. Fortunately for me no cracked skull. I'll rest a few days to heal my neck and back.'
The incident comes just days after Ballas disclosed she is back on the dating scene following her split from boyfriend Danny Taylor in November 2024. She told the Daily Mail she has been on 'a date or two' but is keeping things casual, saying: 'Nothing serious. No labels, no tags.'
Ballas joined Strictly as head judge in 2017 and is preparing for the live arena tour, which includes 30 shows across the country. She expressed her gratitude to fans, stating: 'I love being able to meet the crowds... if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have a show like we've got.'
