Shein Customer Mistakes String for Spider in New Bag

A woman named Brittany Jade was left gobsmacked after opening her new Shein tote bag, convinced there was something unexpected hiding within the bag's lining. The TikTok user captured the moment she discovered a dark patch inside the beige lining of her brown tote bag, which she initially feared was a spider.

Video Reveals the Shocking Discovery

In the video, dramatic music plays as Brittany films the interior of the bag. She zooms in on a darker area of the lining, which appears to conceal something. Using a pair of scissors, she cuts open the lining, revealing a cluster of black string bunched together. “Turns out it’s just string,” she says in the clip.

The bag, a brown tote with the words 'the work bag' printed on it, was purchased from the fast-fashion retailer Shein, known for its bargain prices on clothing, accessories, and homeware.

Customer's Reaction and Shein's Response

Despite cutting the lining, Brittany confirmed the bag remains usable. In the caption, she wrote: “Guys the inside of the bag can be removed and it can still be used as a bag don't worry ur selves.”

A Shein spokesperson said: “We are sorry to hear about this customer's experience and have contacted her directly. The issue she encountered does not reflect the standards we expect from our quality control process, and we will be glad to offer her a replacement bag as a gesture of goodwill.”
