Sharon Osbourne Thanks Fans for 'Overwhelming Love' After Ozzy's Death

Sharon Osbourne has publicly thanked fans for the 'otherworldly amount of love' she has received following the death of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne. The Black Sabbath frontman died at the age of 76 on July 22 from a reported heart attack, just weeks after reuniting with the band on stage in Birmingham.

In an Instagram post, the 72-year-old former X Factor judge shared a video of her trying falconry with her daughter Kelly. She wrote: 'I'm still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you've shown on social media. Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know.'

Sharon described the experience with the birds as 'magical', drawing a parallel to her bond with Ozzy. She added: 'The connection you make with these powerful birds is built entirely on trust and confidence. They'll choose to perch on you only if they sense you are safe and unafraid of them. It's a bond I know all too well.'

In July, fans joined Ozzy's family to pay tribute as a funeral procession made its way through Birmingham. Thousands of tributes, balloons and flowers were left at the Black Sabbath bench. Bostin Brass musicians played Black Sabbath tunes, and fans tossed flowers at the hearse as it travelled through the city.

Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019, performed his last gig on July 5 in a concert featuring Anthrax, Metallica and Guns N' Roses. The couple were married for 43 years.
