Sharon Osbourne has funded all security and costs for Ozzy Osbourne's funeral procession in Birmingham, which will take place on Wednesday. The Black Sabbath rocker died last week after health issues, just weeks after his final gig at Villa Park.
The procession will move along Broad Street to the Black Sabbath bridge and bench, where floral tributes have been left. The road will be closed from 7am, with the cortege starting at 1pm. The family will follow behind.
Birmingham's Lord Mayor, Councillor Zafar Iqbal MBE JP, said: 'Ozzy was more than a music legend - he was a son of Birmingham. We are grateful that they have generously offered to pay to enable this to happen and support the city in giving him the farewell he deserves.'
The gesture comes as Birmingham City Council faces financial strain, needing £153 million in savings for the 2025/26 budget. Ozzy had been desperate to return to the UK and spent his final days in his hometown after the Villa Park concert.
